| HEART STOPPING HEARTLAND IS VENUE FOR ROUND FIVE OF WORLD SERIES SPRINTCARS
The heart stopping high speed racing track that is Heartland Raceway Moama will burst into life this Saturday night, December 2 as the fifth round of the Proton World Series Sprintcars Championship comes to town.
The $650,000 World Series Sprintcars trail has already been to Kalgoorlie WA, Kwinana WA, Adelaide SA and will have been to Nyora Raceway (VIC) last weekend by the time the cars arrive in Moama for December 2.

Gary Brazier
Once again the cream of the crop has come to the Echuca-Moama region to fight out the $25,000 feature race and chase valuable points in the 14 rounds (over 16 nights) national schedule.
The weekend after Moama the teams will race for the second year in Devonport Tasmania for the sixth and seventh rounds at the Latrobe International Speedway.
At the time of writing (November 22) American sensation Jason Johnson has a narrow points lead over 6 times defending champion Max Dumesny and multiple Australian champion Garry Brazier - there are only 20 points between the trio and that's the closest margin in the 20 year history of the WSS Championship!
Last weekend Garry Brazier won the A-Main at Nyora, leading home Max Dumesny, David Murcott, Jason Johnson and Drew Kruck.
Defending WSS and Australian champion Brooke Tatnell is currently away in the USA with his wife Amy where the pair celebrated the birth of their first child earlier this week.
Tatnell won the first two rounds but then flew back to be with his American wife for the birth of “Emma Tatnell” but it remains unclear if he'll be back in time for the Heartland action on December 2 or not.
”I know he's pretty excited about being a Dad right now,” Tatnell's WA car owner Shane Krikke said, “we're not sure when he'll be back but it is possible he'll make Moama. Our fingers are crossed.”
WSS organisers have moved this year to change the start time of the Heartland event, due to the searing temperatures turning track conditions into tyre fryers in recent runnings of the tournament there.
“David Roberts have done a phenomenal job building an incredible venue in Heartland,” says WSS CEO Wade Aunger, “but the hot temperatures don't give him a chance when it comes to getting water into the track, and as a result it can burn tyres off. By starting a bit later (7.30pm) this year, we hope we can race when the sting of the sun is taken out a bit. That will help everyone.”

Dave Murcott
This is the third year that Heartland Raceway has held a round of World Series Sprintcars and it still holds the attendance record of 11,000 from the first year the series touched down in Moama.
“Even last year there were about 9,000 at Heartland and that's still knocking on the door of record attendances. Victorian fans really love that venue and that town.”
Victorian contracted drivers Matthew Reed and David Murcott will be entirely focused on a win at the massive Heartland circuit as they revel in the chance to race within a couple of hours from home for a change.
“We've been out on the road racing in WA and SA for the first month it seems, so it's great to be a bit closer to home,” smiles Murcott.
The 40 square metre JBS Industrial Quality Tools Giant Video Screen will again be a major feature of the WSS event on December 2 with some great new material and plenty of slow motion replays of all the action.
The $850,000 screen adds another dimension to the racing, and can actually be hired for a night in the lead up to or on the Sunday night by any local business or event that may be considering its impact.

The cream of Australian Sprintcar talent is on its way next week to Heartland Raceway with the fifth round of the 20 th anniversary Proton World Series Sprintcars Championship, presented by Ultrasteel.
